About

What is this for?

This page is not for me to bring you on a journey through my professional history or disclose personal details about my life. You may find that in other pages or by contacting me, yet you may find this page equally relevant if you’re looking to evaluate me.
Here I lay a few core parts of my personality bare for you to empathize with, to judge, to see me as a person.

Please continue only if you’re interested in that.

Software designer

One compliment I’ve been arrogant enough to give myself is that I have a good taste.
A vision for a coherent whole that is more than just a sum of its parts.
Not just in the visual arts but in general.
The one area where I can apply that best is software.
I was born in 99 and lived through enormous technological changes in Poland.
As internet was becoming more prevalent, I got sucked into the online world more and more.
The internet and international culture became embedded in me more deeply than national or regional culture.

That vision, my proclivity to math, and appreciation for arts, made it clear I have to pursue Computer Science.
My uni days started strong. I had real passion for my subjects. My favorite ones were those related to math or logic. It felt that each new piece of knowledge came, clicked, and neatly fit in with the previous ones.
But just as software can acquire technical debt due to scale or ill-considered design, I acquired technical debt due to my lack of discipline, and I couldn’t keep up with the constantly growing technical knowledge that required me to sit down and do the work, as opposed to the mathematical and logical concepts that I can always derive from my previous knowledge.

After uni, in 2022, I put coding to the side, got a day job, and focused on music and art in my free time.
I was floating around that space, but something incredible was happening in those years.
Late 2022/Early 2023, ChatGPT was gaining traction. As time went by I found myself going back to technical stuff. Instead of not knowing how to search for some unknown concept/function/library, I described it to an LLM and it knew what I meant. I asked it to explain to me with examples (that’s how I learn best, gotta see it in practice), and it did.
I started doing some light coding again. I got into Linux, and I was getting more and more into modifying my digital life in detail, exactly how I want it.
I was using LLMs more and more, better models, better setups, agents, skills, and more.
Now I make many of my own tools by telling an agent plugin what I want to achieve and how, in detail, most often naming exact functions, variables, and changes I want it to apply. I could almost write those myself at this point.
AI cured my coding wounds from the university.
I made it work for me in a way that didn’t suck my creativity, but bolstered it.
I couldn’t have become a software engineer in 2022, but I became a software designer in 2026.

Optimist

Have you seen any of the Ethan Hawke movies?

One day, having watched a few of his movies, I realized I like all of these movies, and I like him in all of these works. There are many actors I like, but I wouldn’t call any of them my favourite, so I decided that if someone asks who my favourite actor is, I should proudly say “Ethan Hawke!”.

A few years later, at this point I’ve seen 7 movies starring Ethan Hawke, I realized this trend continued. There must have been some deeper reason for my affinity. So I started reading relevant posts on the internet, to see if anyone feels similar to how I did.
Under a reddit post, I found a comment with this one line:

“ Hawke’s special niche appears to be playing outwardly weak men who are actually hiding some inner resolve which keeps their moral compass straight, despite temptations. “

Upon reading that I felt like I was just given a key to an undiscovered part of my personality.
It clicked with me then - I was Todd Anderson in school and college, I yearned for a Before-trilogy adventure in my life, and I have always hoped to have Jake Hoyt’s moral strength to do what’s right.

In order to be my best version of an Ethan Hawke’s character, and that is a part of my core, I threw away the mask of a cynic, and embraced being an idealist and an optimist not because everything around is beautiful, but because it isn’t.

Founder

Being someone who didn’t like others telling me what to do, I became enamoured by an idea of being someone everyone tells what to do - a start-up founder.
It became clear to me that the best vehicle for me to create beauty through software design, is by founding a start-up with people who share my values, so we can push each other to be the best versions of ourselves, so those best versions of us can create the best version of our product.
The one thing that is the most beautiful one in the whole world, and whose beauty has been fading for the last couple years, are relationships.
Without our relations there is nothing, and looking at the trends we are having fewer and worse relations, and so in the place of beauty comes nothing.

I chose to design software,
to create a more optimistic world,
with a start-up,
tasked to create beauty,
by forming real relationships between people.

Now

If you find this page self-aggrandizing and pompous, perhaps it is a little bit.
But that doesn’t make it false and most importantly I think everyone has a story like that; if they don’t, they deserve to develop one.

And I can’t wait to hear yours.
